Ollan Christopher founded the
Natural Four in 1968. They released their first single entitled
"I Thought You Were Mine" on Boola Boola Records which
was a local record label. This recording landed them a contract
with ABC Dunhill Records in 1969. While on ABC Dunhill they released
"Natural Four, Good Vibes". The hit single on this LP
was "Why Should We Stop Now", which sold 50,000 + units
nationwide. In 1972 Ollan met Curtis Mayfield and signed to his
label, Curtom Record, and recorded three albums, "Natural Four",
distributed by Buddah Records, "Natural Four, Heaven Right
Here on Earth" and Natural Four, Nightchaser", distributed
by Warner Bros.
From 1987 to present Ollan has been producing Zakiya Hooker, daughter
of Blues legend John Lee Hooker. |
